Welcome to the Microsystems Technology Laboratories (MTL) at MIT. MTL is an interdepartmental laboratory that supports Microsystems research encompassing work in circuits and systems, MEMS, electronic and photonic devices, and molecular and nanotechnology. Our research is enabled by a set of shared experimental facilities, as well as a vibrant industrial consortium. Annually, MTL supports the research of 550 students and staff who are sponsored by contracted research of more than $40M.

MARC2009: Call for Titles

MARC2009We are pleased to announce the Call for Abstract Titles for MARC2009 (Microsystems Annual Research Conference 2009) to be held in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire from January 28-29, 2009. MARC provides an MTL-wide forum for the presentation of the research achievements of the past year and to promote interaction between MTL students, faculty, and industry partners. Please, encourage researchers and staff to submit a title to MARC2009.

Annual Research Report

AR20082008 MTL Annual Research Report is now online

We have published PDFs of the report online for you to download and view. As always, we present research abstracts from the five major areas of MTL Research: Circuits and Systems, Electronic Devices and Emerging Technologies, Molecular and Nanotechnologies, MEMS and BioMEMS, and Photonics. Additionally, we include extensive faculty data, overviews of our research centers, theses awarded, an indice of the 2008 MTL Memo series, a listing of the 2007-2008 MTL Seminar Series, and more.
